"The property we chose has outstanding opportunity, while K-Mart and Vons were too small to accommodate our needs," said George. "There are a lot of retail sales that are heading to Santa Maria." George explained each schematic and how they planned to fit into the city design requirements.

"This is by no stretch a done deal, but volume analysis done by John 4 S. Thompson and Associates shows Lompoc can generate the volume," George said. "As far as the three hardware businesses in town, we find that most of the nuts and bolt buyers want the smaller, better customer service. Who wants to walk into a huge store for two small things?" George also explained that the Lompoc store would be a little smaller than Santa Maria's store, but would have a bigger Garden Center. "We are looking at a building with a Garden Center," he said.
